My baby's creed (down syndrome creed)

My face may be different
But my feelings the same
I laugh and I cry
And I take pride in my gains
I was sent here among you
To teach you to love
As God in the heavens
Looks down from above
To Him I'm no different
His love knows no bounds
It's those here among you
In cities and towns
That judge me by standards
That man has imparted
But this family I've chosen
Will help me get started
For I'm one of the children
So special and few
That came here to learn
The same lessons as you
That love is acceptance
It must come from the heart
We all have the same purpose
Though not the same start
The Lord gave me life
To live and embrace
And I'll do it as you do
But at my own pace

Hi. I am Raelyn. I have a brother with Down syndrome!! He is my best friend!! Although there are nine years dividing our ages, I share with him everything!! I have learning disabilities myself, so I've always seen our connection being related to "special needs"!! ;-D
I took the liberty of Google-searching the author of this lovely poem. My second place said that Sharon Sudano wrote it. ;)
Your son is Beautifully Unique!! ;-D

  2. I ran across this while searching for 'Down Syndrome'...I love the Pic and the poem...I am sharing with everyone...THANK YOU for posting that...

I am on a MISSION to bring awareness to this and I am sending this to as many bloggers as I can find...

I had an experience on the 4th, that humbled me...Seeing your son, then reading that poem, makes my mission all the more important...

Please take a minute and read this post that I wrote about about my new friend, Colton...Spending time with him that day was one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had...

If you find the post inspiring, please share it far and wide...

It is titled " A Guitar in The Closet" and here is the link...
